Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh oregano leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 tomato slices
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped red onion, minced garlic, chopped oregano leaves, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper
Mix well
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates to prevent sticking
Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and close the grill to melt the cheese
While the burgers are grilling, prepare the spicy mayo sauce
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and honey
Stir until well combined
Once the burgers are done, remove them from the grill
To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of the spicy mayo sauce on the bottom half of each hamburger bun
Place a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice on top of the sauce
Add the cheesy burger patty on top of the veggies
Complete the burger with the top half of the bun
